WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah -- A 3-year-old South St. Paul girl who disappeared has been found in Utah and her father is facing kidnapping charges.
Authorities say Eva'Anne Delpaso was seen walking with her father, Ankker Delpaso, around 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the vicinity of West Valley City, Utah, which is located 10 miles from Salt Lake City. Ankker Delpaso was taken into custody on a Dakota County arrest warrant without incident.
The girl's mother says Delpaso took his daughter from her aunt's South St. Paul home sometime Thursday. Police say a court order prohibits Delpaso from having unsupervised contact with his daughter.
Following media reports, a citizen called South St. Paul Police on Saturday to say she saw who she believed to be the missing father and daughter at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Friday. The two were identified from a surveillance photo. Officers then learned they had boarded a plane headed to Denver and then continued on to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Delpaso remained in the custody of Utah authorities on Saturday night. Arrangements are being made for his return to Minnesota.
Eva'Anne is in good condition and will remain with state child workers until her mother can come out to Utah to pick her up. Her mother is hoping to get funds for the flight from the Center For Missing And Exploited Children.
