HUTCHINSON, Minn. -- The McLeod County Sheriff's Department says it found the body of a man who fell into the Crow River Tuesday.
Investigators say they found the body of 37-year-old Jeffrey Degn Sunday after someone called about seeing a red jacket floating in the river near Tartan Park in Hutchinson.
Officers got to the scene and recovered the body, which was identified as Degn by his driver's license.
On Friday, the Civil Air Patrol flew over the Crow River to search for Degn, Crews also searched the river twice a day by boat.
A witness told the McLeod County Sheriff's Department that Degn slipped from some rocks near the dam on Main Street in Hutchinson about 7 p.m. Tuesday and was carried away in the fast-moving river.
A ground and air search was called off Tuesday night because of darkness and the swift current.
McLeod County Sheriff Scott Rehmann said searchers used cadaver dogs Wednesday along the river.
