WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. -- A trip to White Bear Lake on a whim will give Aaron Morris a great story to tell for years to come.
Morris, 29, and his brother Andy, 31, reeled in a 53-inch muskie Thursday morning. It's the biggest muskie Aaron has caught since he started fishing for them last summer. The brothers went night fishing on White Bear Lake Wednesday night, but had no success.
Thursday's big catch made up for it all. Aaron took the muskie to a local bait shop to get official measurements taken. He estimates that the fish weighs about 50 pounds.
According to the Department of Natural Resources, the largest muskie ever caught in Minnesota was 54 pounds in 1957 on Lake Winnibigoshish in Itasca County.
