ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Police have arrested two men in the deadly shooting of a 21-year-old man in St. Paul early Sunday morning.
Around 3:30 a.m., officers were called to the area of Oakley and Prior Avenues for several reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found the body of Joe Anthony Rivera in the street. Rivera was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
A second victim was found nearby with a gunshot wound to the leg. The man was transported to Regions Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators don't believe the shooting was a random act and say an argument at a party led up to the incident.
Officers from the Saint Paul Police Department's Homicide Unit, Canine Unit as well as the Western and Central Districts tracked down and arrested the suspects.
Both men arrested are currently being held in the Ramsey County Jail. Criminal charges are pending.
Per company policy, KARE11 does not identify suspects before they are formally charged.
