MINNEAPOLIS -- A 13-year-old boy has been booked in the Juvenile Detention Center in Minneapolis for criminal sexual conduct on a school bus, according to Minneapolis Police.
The boy sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl on a bus on Monday afternoon near Sheridan Arts Magnet School, located in the 1200 block of University Ave. NE.
Authorities say both were students from the school. The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the incident.
Al Pitt, the principal of Sheridan Arts Magnet School, commented on the incident via email Tuesday night.
"We take these types of allegations very seriously and the matter is currently under investigation with the Minneapolis Police Department," Pitt said. "Maintaining a safe environment for our students is a top priority. We are committed to following our district's discipline policy concerning this incident."
