WACONIA, Minn. -- A Carver County man is in police custody after he allegedly fired several shots at a Waconia bar.
According to the Carver County Sheriff, officers were called to Hopper's Bar at 119 Olive Street South around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The sheriff says 32-year-old man from rural New Germany was removed from the building by bar staff for creating a disturbance.
The man allegedly proceeded into the street with a handgun and fired shots towards the business where about one hundred people were inside and several others were outside.
Witnesses were able to restrain the shooter until deputies arrived.
Hennepin County Sheriff, Minnetrista Police, Chaska Police and the State Patrol responded to the incident.
The suspect is currently in custody at the Carver County Jail.
