Can we end breast cancer by the year 2020? The National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) thinks we can and has set that deadline. So from April 30th to May 3rd, it will be holding a conference in Washington DC to discuss its goals and lobby lawmakers. The Minnesota NBCC will be sending a delegation to that conference. If interested, you can register to go along.

Get ready to Race

Registration is also now open for this year's Susan G. Komen Twin Cities Race for the Cure. It's being held at Mall of America on Sunday, May 8, 2011. Gather your friends and form a team. Team registration is open until April 16th. Individual on-line registration ends May 3rd. Of course you can always register in person the day of the race. Health Fair 11 will be there and we hope to see you too.

Buddy Check 11 Day

Finally, today is Buddy Check 11 day. Remember to do your breast self-exam and call your buddy to remind her/him to do the same. If you notice any changes, call your doctor right away.

Then, if you're 40 or older, or are at risk for breast cancer, be sure to schedule your annual mammogram.

It's good to have goals. Your good health is an important one. Health Fair 11, a partnership of KARE 11, UCare, and North Memorial encourage you to take charge of your health!
