Benton County court officials have set aside two weeks in early November for the trial of a woman accused of killing her ex-husband in his Sauk Rapids apartment in late 2011.
Angelina Mae O'Mara, 39, was indicted by a grand jury for the shooting death of James O'Mara. Angelina O'Mara was in court Wednesday in Benton County for a pretrial hearing.
She is scheduled to stand trial beginning Nov. 5. She faces one count each of first- and second-degree murder.
James O'Mara was found in his apartment in November 2011 with a gunshot wound to his head. Angelina O'Mara was arrested days later in South Dakota, after she was wanted for questioning in her ex-husband's death and the death in Wisconsin of her boyfriend.
Michael Pies was found dead in an Ashland, Wis., motel room with a gunshot wound to the head. According to charges filed in both cases, authorities believe that O'Mara killed Pies after killing her ex-husband.
