GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Our bitter cold temperatures are a vivid reminder of what a difference a warm and clean bed is on these cold winter nights. Now is your chance to help make sure others in our community have this same opportunity.
This Sunday, January, 6, 2013, participating local SUBWAY restaurants are partnering with Bridging to collect blankets to that will be distributed to individuals and families in need.
Located in Bloomington and Roseville, Bridging distributes more than 6,000 beds annually, but are always short of blankets to accompany them.
Now in its eleventh year, the SUBWAY Bring a Blanket collection is the primary means of securing blankets for the more than 4,000 families Bridging serves each year.
Everyone is invited to bring new or gently used, clean blankets to any participating SUBWAY restaurant. In return for their donation, contributors will receive a free, regular six-inch SUBWAY sandwich (one free regular six-inch sandwich per person, regardless of the number of blankets donated). Especially needed are blankets that fit full and queen-size beds.
