GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - The bells have jingled, the cookies are gone and you've had enough dashing through the snow for one year! It's time to put away the holidays. To make it easier and keep your holiday decor protected, organizing expert Louise Kurzeka of Everything's Together® shows us products designed to keep holiday stuff contained along with some do-it-yourself options.

Gift Wrap - The key to making gift wrap storage work is to get everything in one container, so it becomes a portable and organized system. Hanging gift wrap bags provide space for rolls or paper, bags, tissue, bows and even scissors and tape. But if you want a DIY option you can make your own hanging gift wrap bag using a suit bag, hung on a hanger with clips and some clear zipper top bags.

Ornament Storage - Whether homemade or a collectible one, ornaments need cushioned protection so they don't break while in storage. Boxes designed with cardboard dividers provide a secure home for precious keepsakes. Add a little bubble wrap or tissue for very fragile items. For the DIY family, acquire a few divided wine boxes and stack ornaments with a layer of tissue or bubble in between each. Egg cartons provide protection for very small items.

Wreaths - Keeping an artificial wreath free of dust and damage is easy in a zippered wreath storage bag. With a variety of sizes to choose from, even the largest wreath can be stored. As an alternative make use of an old hat box and create the DIY version of wreath storage.

Create a Deck the Halls kit - While you are into the re-purposing mode, take an unused fishing tackle box and create a kit with everything you need to decorate for the holidays, Include fishing line, scissors, wire cutters, tape measure, hanging hooks, twist ties and anything else that will make decorating next year easier.

Using these tips is a surefire way to get more life out of your holiday décor and bring more enjoyment to future holidays. For more ideas on getting organized contact Louise Kurzeka of Everything's Together® at louise@everythingstogether.com or call 952-939-8080.
