MINNEAPOLIS - Merrell Oyster The Race, an urban adventure race, will take over the streets of Minneapolis on Oct. 13.

Hundreds of racers will scour the city as their teams hunt for clues that lead them on a top-secret race around Minneapolis.

Using clues to find each checkpoint, teams will be required to run and bike and could potentially paddle, climb, eat or perform their way through 20 to 30 miles of crazy-fun challenges.

A Half Course option will cover 10 to 15 miles for teams who don't want to bite off a full Oyster course. Awards will be given to the top three teams in each division, and every Oyster racer will enjoy food and beer after the race. The Minneapolis Oyster begins at 8 a.m., with the Half Course option starting at 9 a.m.

Spectators and supporters are invited to watch from the race headquarters, but the mystery course makes the race difficult to watch in progress.

Proceeds from the Oyster Minneapolis will benefit Make-A-Wish Minnesota, an organization that grants the wishes of children who have life-threatening medical conditions.

Team registration may be done online at www.OysterTheRace.com

Last-minute registration for the Full and Relay Oyster Course is $85 per person. The cost is $75 per peson for the Half Oyster Course.
