GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- Author Dr. Greg Plotnikoff talks about his new book Trust Your Gut, a medical page-turner featuring new mind-body solutions to chronic intestinal distress.
The book is aimed for the tens of millions of people that suffer from irritable bowel syndrome, gastric acid reflux disease, and other gastrointestinal miseries including food intolerances, diarrhea, and gas.
"People suffer for years because chronic intestinal distress is a mind-body problem, not an either-or problem. When physicians treat just the body and psychologists just the mind, they attack symptoms, not the cause. People need skills, not pills," says Plotnikoff who sees patients at the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing, part of Allina Health.
The book explores a holistic program that combines ancient wisdom with the newest findings.
