ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The 2013 Minnesota Horse Expo is taking place at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds this weekend.
Celebrating 31 years of bringing horses, owners, and enthusiasts together the expo features the largest breed gathering and equine vendor show in the state.
A family friendly event featuring free horse, pony, and wagon rides, performance by the Zuhrah Shrine Horse Patrol, and speakers covering a variety of equine related topics the expo has something for everyone. A rodeo performance put on by PRCA rodeos will take place in the Coliseum Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Rodeo tickets range from $4 to $10 in addition to the expo daily admission.
Gates open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 5 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $9 for ages 13-61, $6 for ages 6-12 and 62 and over, children under 5 are free. Money raised at the expo is presented to the Minnesota Horse Council to fund scholarships, horse trail development, and horse facility improvements throughout the state.
