HOPKINS, Minn. -- Stages Theatre Company is opening a new play that puts a new spin on the fairytale classic Cinderella.
"Cinder Edna" follows Cinderella and her spunky neighbor Cinder Edna as they battle the same big problem, two stepsisters and a stepmother. Set in the 1950s the play offers many rock n' roll inspired dance numbers including, "Storybook Stomp," "Do I Have to Wear That," and "Tuna Noodle Casserole."
"This production has a great message for both boys and girls -- it's all about being true to who you are, not what others expect you to be, and finding the fun in every moment," says Director Cassandra Proball.
"Cinder Edna" opened April 26th and will run through May 25th. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children ages five to 17 and seniors ages 60 and above. Tickets may be purchased online at stagestheatre.org and at the Stages Theatre box office.
