Pen Pals literary series begins October 10

MINNEAPOLIS--Friends of the Hennepin Country Library is pleased to announce the seventeenth season of Pen Pals, the highly regarded and longest running literary series in the Twin Cities.

Pen Pals benefits Friends of the Hennepin County Library, an active community of library supporters.

The 2013-2014 Pen Pals season offers five eclectic and engaging authors who collectively have won many of the world's most coveted literary honors. Authors include George Saunders, A.S. Byatt, Luis Alberto Urrea, Art Speigelman and Tracy K. Smith.

Tickets for the Pen Pal series go on sale August 12th. Admission includes reserved seating to the lecture as well as complimentary desserts and coffee. Lectures will be held at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, with the first lecture by George Saunders starting on October 10th.
