INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. - Two people are recovering after being shot early Tuesday in Inver Grove Heights.
Police received a 911 call just before 1 a.m. from someone who said someone had been shot. Squads responded to the intersection of Highway 52 and 70th Street and found a female inside a vehicle who had been shot in the hand. She was taken to the hospital.
Moments after the first call dispatchers received a second 911 call from a home on the 3000 block of Upper 76th Street East claiming another person had been shot. Officers found an adult male with several gunshot wounds and a 35-year-old Inver Grove Heights man they identified as the shooter.
The preliminary investigation suggests both victims were shot at the home on Upper 76th Street East, and one victim fled the residence. Police also say the shooting was not a random act, and that both victims are known to the suspect.
