BIG LAKE TOWNSHIP, Minn. - Slick roadways may have played a role in a fatal crash in Big Lake Township Wednesday morning.

Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott says it happened shortly after 5:30 a.m. on County Road 15 just north of the junction with County Road 35.

Brott says 39-year-old Steven Baragar of Big Lake was killed when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

Witnesses say  Baragar was traveling southbound and had just completed a pass when he lost control of his vehicle.

Wednesday's crash was the second fatal motor vehicle accident on County 15 in less than a month.

Roads were slick all across the state. State Patrol spokesman Sergeant Jesse Grabow says a school bus was involved in a crash with a passenger car on Highway 32 near Middle River. Ten children were aboard the bus, and the patrol reports that there were non-life threatening injuries.
