MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota's Kyle Rau scored on a rebound late in the third period to give the Gophers a 5-3 win over Minnesota-Duluth on Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Rau wound up with the puck after Zach Budish's shot deflected through traffic and scored into a wide open net at 13:25. Erik Haula had an empty-netter with seconds left. Rau now has six game-winning goals.

Haula had two goals, while Sam Warning and Nate Condon each had a goal and an assist for the second-ranked Gophers (21-6-4, 13-6-4).

The Bulldogs (10-17-4, 8-13-4) came from behind twice to tie the game but still dropped to 0-7-1 in their last eight games.

Austin Farley scored two goals for Minnesota-Duluth, including a power-play goal that tied it 3-3 at 19:16 of the second period.

Minnesota was 0-for-5 on the power play.
