APPLE VALLEY, Minn. - Law enforcement personnel from all over Dakota County hit the hardwood Saturday to raise money for the family of fallen Cold Spring officer, Tom Decker.
"He had a wife and four kids," says Sgt. Booker Hodges with the Dakota County Sheriff's Department. "We want to make sure people don't forget that."
More than 50 players representing close to a dozen police agencies went head-to-head in a 4-team basketball tournament at Apple Valley High School.
It's the 3rd annual "Ballin' in DC Tournament" and this year the proceeds of the event went to support the Decker family.
"It takes a lot of work putting this on," says Sgt. Hodges. "But for me, he paid the ultimate price and this is the least I could do."
Players, fans, and local business raised more than $1,500.
