MAPLEWOOD, Minn. - Volunteers are making one more sweep for the body of Kira Trevino.

This is the final weekend volunteers plan to search the shoreline of a Maplewood Lake.

Her husband, Jeffery Trevino sits in jail, charged with her murder.  But her body has yet to be found.

In March, volunteers found a bag at Keller Lake containing items, including a pillow and shirt with her blood.

Saturday, they searched the shoreline of Keller Lake one more time.

Among those looking for more signs of Kira Trevino was her best friend from childhood, Jackie Kluever.

Kluever said, "We had dreams of becoming pediatricians together and opening a clinic and working together and having a dozen kids. We had a lot of good times and just I'll cherish them forever."

Kluever has come from Wisconsin for most of these weekend searches.

Now that the snow is gone, she said the ground search around Keller and nearby lakes will be complete by Sunday.

Kluever said, "We're sweeping down from Gervais, through Keller Lake and Round Lake and [Lake] Phalen.  We just want to make sure everything is covered.  We don't want to miss anything."

There were about 40 volunteers on Saturday.  The Salvation Army was there supplying food and warm beverages.

Searchers stayed off the ice at the request of Kira's family and police, for safety sake.

If they find nothing else this weekend, they said they will have to wait for the ice to melt and then Kluever hopes Kira will be found and she can bring her best friend home.

Kluever tearfully said, "Kira was an amazing person and I think that anybody that had the fortune of knowing her in their life has been truly blessed."

Divers have searched Keller Lake for Kira's body a few times, but have found nothing.

Even though volunteers are done searching the lake for now, they plan to focus on the route between Trevino's home and the Mall of America (where she worked) and points of interest in between.

A tentative trial date has been set for Jeffery Trevino.  It's May 28th.  He has been charged with second degree murder.

Investigators are also seeking access to his Facebook page after friends told police he wrote N-W-N-P which they think may mean, "No witnesses, no proof."
