WASHINGTON, D.C. - Minnesota's congressional delegation took part in the annual "Hotdish Off" in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, with the winning dish going to Rep. Tim Walz.
Sen. Al Franken hosted the third annual event as a way to bring the delegation together and celebrate a Minnesota culinary tradition.
The winning recipe was called "Hermann the German Hotdish."
"I want to thank Sen. Franken and his staff for putting this annual, bipartisan event on. It was great to share our recipes and great to finally win," said Walz in a news release. "Today we share our hot dish recipes, tomorrow let's share our ideas to create jobs, grow our economy, and forge a better future for our children and grandchildren."
"It's a great day when the Minnesota delegation is able to put our differences aside and focus on what really matters -- hot dish," said Sen. Franken. "I want to thank all my colleagues for participating in today's competition and a huge congratulations to Rep. Walz for his winning Hermann the German Hotdish. It was delicious."
