YOSEMITE VILLAGE, Calif. - Yosemite National Park Rangers are searching for 73-year-old Kenneth Stensby, an Edina man who did not return from a hike early on Sunday morning.
Park officials said that Stensby was staying at the Ahwahnee Hotel. The avid hiker left a note early on Sunday morning informing hotel staff that he was leaving for the hike and that he expected to be back to the hotel by noon.
Stensby's day pack was found later on Sunday by National Park Service personnel. It did not contain his camera.
Park Rangers are searching along the Mist Trail corridor from Happy Isles to the top of Vernal Fall. About 30 people took part in the search effort on Monday. The park is utilizing a dog team to assist in the search.
