Police investigate attempted kidnapping near Lake Calhoun

MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis police are investigating an attempted kidnapping that occurred near Lake Calhoun on Sunday afternoon.

Police said that a 13-year-old girl was riding her bike when she was approached by three men near 36th Street West and Zenith Avenue South at about 2:25 p.m.

One of the suspects grabbed the girl by the wrist and said they would hurt her if she made any noise, police said. The victim told police that she screamed causing the men to leave the scene and run northbound. It's unknown if there was a vehicle parked nearby, police said.

There have been no similar incidents reported. The investigation is ongoing.
