MINNEAPOLIS - Residents of a north Minneapolis neighborhood are understandably uneasy after at least three arson fires in the past few weeks.
The Minneapolis Arson Squad is investigating the incidents, which began in the McKinley neighborhood on April 24. The first involved a fire that badly damaged a detached garage on the 3300 block of Aldrich Avenue North.
Just over two weeks later police and fire were called to a pair of fires early the morning of May 14. The first happened just after 3 a.m. when someone set fire to the rear of a home on the 3300 block of Bryant Avenue North.
Five hours later authorities were notified about a detached garage that had been set ablaze nearby.
A fourth garage fire on the 3300 block of Bryant Avenue North from November of 2012 also remains unsolved.
Anyone with information regarding these arson fires or who may be behind them is asked to call Sgt. Sean McKenna at 612-673-3389, or the Arson Hot-Line at 1-800-723-2020.
