GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway will have arthroscopic knee surgery on Wednesday, but should be ready for the start of training camp.
"We just wanted to get it done now rather than run into a situation where we get into camp and it continues to bother him," said coach Leslie Frazier.
Greenway had an MRI to check out the reason for knee problems that have bothered him this spring.
"We saw some things and that we needed to go in and clean up," Frazier said. "That's what we're going to do, have the scope and get it done."
Greenway will miss the rest of OTAs and next week's minicamp, but he expects to be back on the field in time for training camp in July.
Greenway has played in 96 straight games since making his regular season debut in 2007, starting all but one of them, and is coming off his second straight Pro Bowl.
