MINNEAPOLIS - The Minneapolis fire department says a woman and dog have died following a late-night fire on the city's south side.
Crews responded to the fire at 4539 Minnehaha Ave. at about 10:15 p.m. on Friday.
When they arrived, they found smoke showing from a side-by-side bungalow-style home.
Firefighters said they found a victim inside. They performed CPR on the woman, but it was unsuccessful. She was pronounced dead on scene.
A dog also died as a result of the fire, officials said.
No firefighters or other civilians were injured. The woman's name hasn't been released. The fire remains under investigation.
