Argument leads to homicide in north Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis police are investigating the shooting death of a man found lying on the sidewalk on the city's north side.

Officers were called to the 3400 block of Fremont Avenue North just after midnight on Sunday morning.

Police said when they arrived they found the man lying on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound.

Preliminary information indicates that the incident was not a random act. Police said an argument between the victim and a suspect led to the shooting. The suspect and victim are believed to have known each other, police said.

The victim was transported to North Memorial Hospital where he died during surgery at about 6 a.m.

The suspect left the scene. No arrests have been made

Homicide investigators are interviewing witnesses. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 612-692-TIPS.
