BELVIEW, Minn. - Investigators searching for a murder suspect in southwestern Minnesota confirm that they have located his vehicle.
The brown 1996 GMC Sierra pickup truck that disappeared along with suspect Andrew Dikken was discovered in a remote area five miles north of the town of Belview. just northeast of Marshall in Redwood County.
Authorities emphasize that while the truck has been located there is still no sign of Dikken.
Dikken is suspected of fatally shooting his former girlfriend, who was identified by family as 26-year-old Kara Monson, and wounding her current boyfriend. The double shooting happened in Granite Falls early Monday morning.
Investigators from Granite Falls, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) continue to search for Dikken, who is officially being referred to as a person of interest.
Anyone with information as to where Andrew Dikken may be is asked to contact the Granite Falls Police Department, the Yellow Medicine Sheriff's Office, or 911.
Dikken should not be approached as he may be armed and dangerous.
