Officers who shot Terrance Franklin awarded Purple Hearts

MINNEAPOLIS - Two Minneapolis Police officers shot during an arrest this summer are being honored.

Officers Ricardo Muro and Michael Meath each received the purple heart from the first responder program.

The two officers shot Terrance Franklin to death. The officers say the shot after Franklin grabbed one of the officer's guns and shot the officers.

The two officers returned fire, hitting Franklin eight times. A grand jury cleared them of any wrongdoing in the shooting.
