ST. PAUL, Minn. - As the federal government shutdown drags on eight bars and restaurants in St. Paul are extending their offer of free beer for furloughed workers on Tuesdays.
The original offer #TuesdayBrewsDay started as free domestic beer between 4 and 6 p.m on Tuesdays. It has been expanded to "any beer, any time" throughout Tuesday October 15.
The participating bars and restaurants include Alary's Bar, Bennett's Chop and Railhouse, Burger Moe's, Cherokee Tavern, Eagle Street Grille, The Liffey, American Burger Bar and Tome Reid's Hockey City Pub. They've pledged to participate until the shutdown is resolved.
Visit St. Paul, the city's convention and visitors bureau created the promotion to support the approximately 19,000 employees in Minnesota who work for the federal government.
