MILWAUKEE - A 25-year-old man has been charged with killing his girlfriend's 5-year-old son.
Darrell Rogers was charged Friday with first-degree reckless homicide in the death of Damion Davis in Milwaukee.
According to the complaint, Dedra Walker left her son with Rogers Nov. 26 while she went to work and found the boy in bed when she returned.
Rogers allegedly told Walker he had fallen in the shower and banged his head. He didn't mention the boy, other than he thought he was sleeping. Walker found the boy dead the next morning.
An autopsy revealed contusions and lacerations on the boy's body and severe head and abdominal injuries. It was ruled a homicide.
The attorney listed in his online court record, Danielle Shelton, did not immediately return a call Monday. A preliminary hearing is Dec. 10.
