GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- Meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas is leaving KARE 11 after more than a decade of forecasting the weather for the NBC affiliate.
The announcement was made Friday. In a statement, KARE 11 General Manager John Remes said, " Jonathan has decided to take a position at KSTP-TV. We of course thank Jon for his contributions to KARE 11 Sunrise and we wish him well."
Yuhas posted on his Facebook account, "Thank you for all the well wishes - it was a real pleasure and a dream since I was 6 years old to forecast the weather in my hometown of the Twin Cities. My 13 years on the KARE Sunrise show went so fast. Thank you again."
Yuhas is a Twin Cities native who was born in St. Paul and who grew up in Edina. He attended Mankato State University and the University of North Dakota where he studied aviation, meteorology, and geography.
