JORDAN, Minn. -- The State Patrol says a Belle Plaine man has died in a rear-end accident on Highway 169 near Jordan late Monday night.
Two vehicles were traveling northbound on Hwy. 169 just before 11:30 p.m. when a pickup truck driven by a 34-year-old Belle Plaine man stopped at a green light at Highway 282. A semi truck was unable to stop and rear-ended the pickup truck.
The pickup truck was then pushed into the right ditch and landed upside down.
The 34-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene.
The State Patrol says the 79-year-old driver of the semi suffered minor injuries. He was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee.
Originally the State Patrol website reported the accident sequence differently.
