ORONO, Minn. - The Minnesota State patrol is investigating a fatal crash Tuesday morning that closed Highway 12 in both directions in Orono.

The State Patrol's website reports that the collision at Highway 12 and County Road 6 occurred around 6:45 a.m. It involved a 1992 Honda Accord and a Mack semi truck

Investigators say the driver of the Honda, 37-year-old Bruno Sagnweu from Oakdale, was driving westbound on Highway 12 when he lost control of his vehicle, hit a retaining wall and then careened in front of the semi which struck him broadside.

The driver of the truck, a 60-year-old man from Dassel, suffered minor injuries.

Emergency responders shut down Highway 12 in both directions to transport victims and conduct an investigation.
