911 unavailable to some cell phone users in N. Minn.

BEMIDJI, Minn. - AT&T, Verizon and Northern PCS cell phone customers in parts of northern Minnesota will not be able to call 911 until 6 p.m. CT. due to an accidental fiber cut in the area. Regular land lines in the area will work to call 911.

The Beltrami Sheriff's Office is reporting that the outage produced by the fiber cut affects the following cell phones in the following counties:

Verizon customers: Beltrami, Itasca, Cass, Hubbard, Koochiching, Polk, Roseau, Lake of the Woods, Marshall, Pennington, Clearwater, Mahnomen, Norman and Lake Counties

AT&T: Clearwater and Beltrami Counties

Northern PCS: Polk, Clearwater, Itasca, Cass, Lake, Beltrami, Hubbard and Pennington Counties
