MINNEAPOLIS - Now in its eleventh year, "Choose to Reuse," is a partnership with Hennepin County and about 100 stores to offer discounts on everything from clothing to golf to costumes from now until the end of November.
Nearly 100,000 people received a coupon book full of discounts and the purpose of program is to limit what we put into landfills by purchasing reused or recycled products.
"We just wanted to kind of keep some stuff out of the trash and encourage people to think about ways to kind of reuse their reusable goods and go and find some good stuff that other people have donated," explained Hennepin County Environmental Services' Alisa Reckinger.
With Halloween around the corner, it would only be fitting to hit the 17,000 square foot dress up closet at Costume Rentals in northeast Minneapolis, where you can receive a 10 percent discount on any costume rental.
You can choose from more than 30,000 costumes and another 40,000 accessories, simply bring in the coupon to receive the discount.
In Roseville, Computer Revolution has been part of the program since its inception. Their coupon offers free recycling of a monitor, computer or printer as long as you purchase something.
There are plenty of clothing discounts as well.
You can earn 20 percent off a $25 purchase at Clothes Mentor in Roseville. Uptown Cheapskate in Edina offers a $7.99 shirt for free to new customers. Once Upon a Child stores offers 20 percent off and Goodwill stores will give you half off any item that's $25 or less.
You can receive 25 percent off all used cd's, dvd's and LP's at Down in the Valley, Electric Fetus and 15 percent off at Hymie's Vintage Records.
