TAYLORS FALLS, Minn. -- An Edina man died while attempting to remove a dock from the St. Croix River on Sunday.
The incident happened just before noon at a home on Wild Mountain Road near Taylors Falls in Chisago County.
Authorities say 52-year-old Steven Labarron was attempting to pull his dock out of the river near a steep bank when it disconnected from the pulling rope. The dock then struck Labarron in the head, causing him to fall into the water.
Labarron was transported to the St. Croix ER where he died a short time later. His exact cause of death has not been released.
