MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Golden Gophers are hoping to continue what they have been doing as of late-- playing their best basketball at the end of the season.

After a pair of discouraging losses, the Gophers knocked off No. 1 Indiana and followed that up with a convincing win over Penn State.

"We don't want to have a letdown," forward Trevor Mbakwe said. "We had a good week last week and we want to carry that into this week."

"Confidence means everything," forward Rodney Williams said. "You never want to go into the tournament with any losses. We just have to come out and play the basketball we've been playing."

The Gophers will look to keep that winning trend up, but after two home wins, they will need to bring the same level of play on the road on Wednesday night against Nebraska.

"We're going to give it our best effort," coach Tubby Smith said. "I think our guys are focused on that. It's not going to be the end of the world, but we're going up there expecting to win, and we expect to play one of our better games."

It's a game that seems very winnable against a Cornhuskers team that has been outmatched this year in the conference, but nobody knows better than the Gophers that all Big Ten teams will put up a fight.

"We started the Big Ten (season) off with a three-game winning streak and then we went on that slide," Mbakwe said. "It's kind of been up and down in the Big Ten for us, but I think it would be really great for us to end on a four-game winning streak heading into the Big Ten Tournament."

Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. in Lincoln.
