ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Lynx are finally making their anticipated trip to the White House.
It's been nearly a year since the Lynx won the WNBA championship, but with three players in the Summer Olympics and President Obama's busy schedule, the trip couldn't be scheduled until now.
Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve says it will be an honor to represent the WNBA at the White House Tuesday. Reeve tells Minnesota Public Radio News that it's a special day in honor of a special season.
The Lynx won the championship after sweeping the Atlanta Dream in three games last October. The team is in first place in the league's western conference this season.
