ST. PAUL, Minn. - Joe Mauer made at stop at his old high school on Tuesday to deliver a $10,000 prize pack from Gatorade.
Cretin-Derham Hall was one of 39 high schools nationwide to win the online voting contest.
Mauer was there when the delivery of Gatorade products was made to the school.
"First of, thanks to Gatorade for coming up with the idea," Mauer said. "It's been a great relationship with them. I always try to come back to CDH and do what I can, but they definitely made it real easy for me to help these kids out. And I'm excited about it."
Mauer spent some time talking to about 30 kids about fitness. He also talked about some of his favorite baseball memories.
He was playing high school baseball at CDH when he was drafted by the Twins.
