MINNEAPOLIS - It's another week in April 2013 and yet another snowstorm is taking aim at Minnesota and Wisconsin. Conditions will remain quiet most of the day but by late afternoon into the evening we will see rain, mixing with snow showers develop into the Twin Cities. That mix will turn to snow, some of it heavy at times for the overnight hours.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning through 1 a.m. Tuesday.
The warning includes the Twin Cities metro area. Totals will really vary in what will be a rather narrow area of heavy snow. Amounts in the metro will range from just a few inches to potentially as much as 6-8" in some places. At this point, it looks as though the heavier totals of 6-10" will be mainly north of the metro. If that track shifts one way or another that will reduce or increase metro-wide totals.
Sunshine will be back fairly quickly Tuesday with snow ending in the metro area by about 2 to 3 a.m.
