DULUTH, Minn. - Temperatures will remain well below freezing across most of the state.

The National Weather Service says highs on Sunday will range from near zero in the northwest part of the state to about 20 degrees in the southeast.

A separate storm system was expected to start moving in Saturday night, bringing the chances of some light snow over southern Minnesota. Meteorologists say snow will gradually spread to the northeastern, central and southern parts of the state throughout the day Sunday.

Accumulations in the south could reach several inches by early Monday.

Temperatures on Saturday were helped a bit by mostly sunny skies and relatively light winds. The lowest wind chill in the state was in Bagley, where it reached minus 54 degrees
